自從 2023 年 5 月才發布專輯〈─〉之後，紅髮艾德 Ed Sheeran 又趕在年底前推出最新專輯啦！這次新專輯名稱叫《Autumn Variations》，也就是「秋天變奏曲」的意思，看來 Ed 結束了四則運算符號 (加減乘除等於) 的系列專輯之後，已經準備好以「四季」作為主題開展新階段了嗎？
儘管最新專輯中的歌曲大多是較為私密、悲傷的內容，卻也不乏一些輕快浪漫的歌曲，像是這首〈American Town〉，講述了一段可愛又平凡的戀情，從歌詞中不難看出，即便兩人的生活並不奢華，甚至有點拮据，但是那種樸實的幸福感在字裡行間表露無遺，讓我想到 Ed Sheeran 之前寫過的另一首創作〈Galway Girl〉，歌曲主題和結構都頗為相像，只能說 Ed 真的太會寫情歌啦！
