〈Eyes Closed〉收錄自2023年Ed Sheeran(紅髮艾德)的《─》這張專輯，也是Ed Sheeran在以「四則運算符號作為專輯標題」的系列作品當中的最後一部。
〈Eyes Closed〉以吉他的撥弦聲和恰到好處的鼓點，引導著Ed Sheeran吟唱出這首悲傷的抒情歌曲。歌詞中有好幾句講述著自己在酒吧買醉的孤單心情，彷彿一下陷入美好的幻覺，一下卻又被強硬地拉回現實。
〈Eyes Closed〉的創作背後竟然藏著洋蔥？
這首看似在講述失戀的歌曲，其實背後藏著悲傷的故事。
據Ed Sheeran所說，他在創作《─》這張專輯的那幾年，遭遇到許多令他非常打擊的事情，像是他的老婆在懷孕期間被診斷出腫瘤，以及他身邊有好幾位親朋好友的離世；而這首〈Eyes Closed〉，就是寫給和他曾如親兄弟一般的摯友Jamal Edwards。
Jamal Edwards生前是一名英國的音樂企業家，也是許多音樂平台的創始人，然而由於自身的藥物成癮問題，他在32歲那年因為心臟病而離世。身為多年好友的Ed Sheeran為此感到悲痛欲絕，因為他沒有想到人的死亡會來得這麼快、這麼痛。
不過，儘管〈Eyes Closed〉是Ed Sheeran紀念已故好友的歌曲，但他也希望把這首歌獻給我們每一個曾經失去過摯愛或親友的人，並希望能夠過這首歌曲，讓自己好過一點。
我特別喜歡「因為我目光所及，都是你的身影」這句歌詞，讀來也特別令人心酸，畢竟，只有真的愛過、在意過對方的人，在真正失去之後，才會感受到同樣、甚至更甚的心痛吧。
